Countries across the world gear up to celebrate Yoga, today!

Today is International Yoga Day. He, who has health, has hope, and he who has hope has everything and yoga brings this to one and all. Let us all share and encourage the act of Yoga to live a healthy and wealthy life.

Yoga is one of the ancient arts of India, which originated around six thousand years ago. Yoga is a good practice that increases our physical and mental health. Every posture in yoga is meaningful and beneficial to our health and fitness. It makes our body flexible and light.

International Yoga Day was first proposed by our Prime Minister, Mr. Narendra Modi during his speech at the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) on 27th September 2014. Following this, an International Day for Yoga was declared unanimously by the UNGA on 11th December 2014 and the date for this was decided as 21st June. International Yoga Day is to create awareness in people and educate them about the benefits of practising yoga. Today is the 3rd International Yoga Day.

Many people in various countries of the world perform yoga and avail its benefits, since long past. And today it is much more popular, it is being practised and celebrated today in over 177 countries! People around the world observe International Yoga Day activities at parks, in their offices, schools and colleges and in our twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad it is being celebrated this morning at all parks and many Schools.
